Artist's Statement

My passion for photography has allowed me to see color as I have never seen before. I use my camera as an expressive tool for expressing the realm essence of everything I see: the fantasy versus the reality. Although I enjoy film as much as digital, it is a pleasurable control over my final color palettes to utilize digital technology. Color, light, and composition have helped transform all objects seen through my eyes into the rare beauties missed by others.

My love for nature and travel photography both near and far have been fortunate to show me colors and composition. My perception of line and space become a fantasy through the lens of a camera. I shoot fantasizing about the vivid colors then I transform them into reality. I use my techniques as if I were using a paintbrush on canvas. Digital process enables me to expand the creativity and flexibility of my work.

Often I am summoned to nature which captures the sunlight. In that event, I am complete and the energy of the light moves me like water through a river. The colors in my photographs reflect just that. The sunlight lets me explore the energy within the lines and compositions of my work.
